MANDATE & OBJECTIVE


Mandate

To address gaps in connecting Digital Asset Management (DAM) research and education with industry practice. Lab of Excellence in Digital Asset Management (LED) would promote more advanced and interdisciplinary studies in broad areas of digital assets, digital experience, and content management by enhancing multidisciplinary collaboration between students and scholars/researchers in various creative programs at The Creative School, Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), and other educational institutes and DAM professional organizations across the world.

Objective

LED's objectives are to become the focal point of

  • Providing professional platforms to develop an academic/partner DAM network which would be expected to lead to joint industry-sponsored research

  • Disseminating research analysis and findings in various DAM technology areas through academic publication and broader public industry distribution

  • Providing professional development and educational resources for academic or professional institutions to serve the needs of developing and adapting DAM in their emerging organizations.

  • Providing certification standards, metric and reporting measurements and efficiency standards for DAM vendors
